Prospective Family Meetings | Tours & Observations
In order to help families determine if RMCS might be a match for their children, each winter as we prepare for upcoming fall enrollment RMCS hosts prospective family information meetings and provides school tours and classroom observations. This two step process is designed .to deepen the understanding of Montessori philosophy and the culture of our school.
Prospective Family Meetings
The first step is for parents or gaurdians to attend a prospective family information meeting, which will provide an in-depth overview of River Montessori Charter School, Montessori methodology, and insight into the daily experience at RMCS as well as the crucial role that families play in supporting RMCS. Meetings last approximately ninety minutes. Tours & Observations The second step is for parents or guardians to tour the RMCS site and to experience an authentic view of the Montessori environment by observing in a classroom. Guidelines are provided to assist observers integrate key aspects of the Montessori environment such as the autonomy of the children, the role of the teacher/guide, and verbal and non-verbal communication within the classroom. Tours and observation last approximately sixty minutes. Prospective Family Meeting Schedule Please call the school office at 778-6414 to let us know when you will be attending.
